Withdrawing from Extra Life 2015

Extra LifeUnfortunately, it’s with a twinge of sadness that I must announce that I’m withdrawing from the Extra Life event this year. It’s become increasingly apparent that I’m attempting to juggle way too many things and in order to focus on the most important things (family, job, house), I’m going to have to make the tough decision to let some things go. The first of these things will be the Extra Life event. I still firmly believe in supporting this worthy cause, and this is partially why I need to give it up. I can’t dedicate the amount of time to Extra Life that it deserves. Raising money takes a lot of effort, but I was hoping that my momentum from last year would carry over, which it didn’t.  I also grossly underestimated the effect of leaving the popular LOTRO Players News podcast. These two things have led to a very tepid response to my Extra Life 2015 efforts, and I simply don’t have time to beat the bushes.

TGEN is Participating in Extra Life 2015!

Extra LifeMany of you probably know that my podcast, Beyond Bossfights, is a part of a pretty cool podcast network. And when I say pretty cool, I’m referring as much to the podcast producers and hosts as well as the shows, themselves. When I put the question to this group of folks about Extra Life 2015, I’m happy to say that I got enough interest to go ahead and create an Extra Life team for The Gaming and Entertainment Network! Our goal is to raise $5,000 to benefit children who are sick enough to require specialized hospital treatments and extended stays.

Extra Life Stream 2014

In case you weren’t aware, I will be streaming my Extra Life 2014 Marathon on the official day of October 25, considering I don’t run into any major technical issues. I’ll be over a hitbox.tv/braxwolf around 8am US Central Time (1pm GMT). Some of you have asked for my schedule of events. I’ve thought about that, and I do understand the benefits to viewers, but I just don’t think I’ll be able to schedule my playtime in that way. I’ve never been able to follow a strict regimen while on vacation, and I can’t see sticking to that type of schedule while gaming, either. If I’m enjoying the game I’m playing, I’ll keep going. If not, I’ll switch. That being said, here are the games that I currently have installed on my PC that could possibly make an appearance:
